Reporting an issue: Setting keyboard shortcuts involving the Option key on macOS produces many strange results.
The issue started when I tried setting a shortcut to Cmd + Option + Ctrl + Shift + J (I had mapped Caps Lock to the first four keys), but it never worked. The text box was too small for me to see what exactly was being entered;
So I tried Cmd + Option + J. After pressing it, the text box displayed Cmd + Alt + Δ, so the shortcut didn't work;
Later, I discovered that installing and switching to the Unicode Hex Input keyboard layout could bypass the special symbol display issue. This allowed Cmd + Option + J to display correctly as Cmd + Alt + J, enabling me to set it properly. However, Ctrl + Option + J displayed as Ctrl + Alt + Unidentified, still preventing me from setting it.
I hope this issue can be resolved, or that shortcuts can be set manually rather than through recording.
